Feral cats live a hard life, and they exist practically everywhere people do. We owe it to them and ourselves to exercise a little caution as temperatures drop, and warm car or truck engines seem like a good place for a cold, hungry kitty to sleep.
Or, to paraphrase Tony Orlando, "Knock three times on the car hood if you want them (out of danger)." Yes, I realize I just "dated" myself.
